Melissa Harbert - Administrator
Melissa has been involved with Montessori education for over thirty-five years. She taught at the primary level for many years, and has been School Administrator for the past 16 years. She has also served on the boards of the Montessori Institute NW and the Oregon Montessori Association. A native Oregonian, Melissa loves to travel and has visited Montessori programs all around the globe. She has a BA in Anthropology/ Psychology and an MA in Counseling, specializing in children, adolescents and families. Melissa has been with LCMCS since 2009. |

Leslie Shalduha - Community Liaison
Leslie combines several roles her position: volunteer coordinator, food service manager, and resident garden director. Her interest and passion revolves around healthy, local and sustainable food education. It is her goal to help others understand and appreciate the benefits of eating food that will nourish their body, mind and spirit. When she is not at LCMCS, she says she is "probably somewhere thinking about food and searching out local food sources". Leslie holds a BS degree in Child and Family Studies. She has one daughter who attends LCMCS. |

Mishawn Nelson - Office Manager
With a background in small business ownership, human resource management, and sales management, Mishawn brings a variety of organizational skills to her position at LCMCS. Mishawn has a BA in Communications from Portland State University and holds a real estate broker license in Oregon. She was introduced to Montessori when her son attended Gresham Montessori School, and was a member of the founding committee for LCMCS. Mishawn loves to cook and to do all kinds of outdoor activities with her family. |

Chris Trostel -
Program Development Coordinator
Chris hails from Juneau, Alaska and commutes to LCMCS via the internet and four yearly visits. Chris has taught for many years as an elementary guide, managed the Montessori public program nested in the Juneau schools, and assisted with the growth of the Juneau Montessori adolescent program. Chris has a BA in Environmental Studies and a MS in Education, and holds an Alaska teaching license. She did her Montessori training in Bergamo, Italy 1990, and since has taught in Montessori schools in Minnesota and Alaska. |

Maureen Childs - Trails Coordinator & PR/Funds Development Coordinator
With a 20 year career as a Marketing Manager, and experience in fundraising and grantwriting, Maureen is well-placed as our new PR/Funds Development Coordinator. An Oregon licensed teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, for the past two years she was the Co-Principal and English teacher at a charter school in Beaverton. Previously, Maureen was Site Director for an afterschool program for children in K-6 grades. Maureen also served on the Corbett School District Board. |

Mary Anne Sumpter - Bookkeeper
Mary Anne has been involved with LCMCS for 4 years, serving as Board Treasurer and then as Bookkeeper for the past three years. She has had a three-decade-long and successful career as a financial manager in private industry, small business, and public school settings. Mary Anne has two grown daughters, both in the financial industry, and a grandson who now attends LCMCS. A native of Long Island, New York, Mary Anne lived many years in Florida before moving to Oregon in 1999 to be closer to family. When not crunching numbers, Mary Anne loves to garden and do "anything crafty". |
