04.15.08 : LCMCS Charter Approved
We are very pleased to report that last Thursday night, April 10th, the Gresham-Barlow School District Board gave a unanimous approval for the Lewis and Clark Montessori Charter School Proposal.
Thank you to all the community members, individuals and families that voiced their support through signing up for this newsletter, writing letters of support, participating with us in community events and filling out intent to enroll forms. It is through your efforts that the School Board saw how much the Gresham community wanted this charter school proposal to be approved.
The Formation Committee and Lewis and Clark Board Members will be busy working with the District on the charter contract and planning for the school opening. We will be setting information meetings for interested families shortly as well as the date for the public lottery. Please continue to visit our website for updates as well as through our email newsletters.
There is much work to do so if you are interested in volunteering, don't hesitate to contact us. Many hands make for light work and we are always eager to meet new people from the community interested in supporting the success of Lewis and Clark.
